The IDF has put in action on Monday morning, 23 July, missile defense system “sends David” (David’s Sling) to intercept two missiles, launched from Syrian territory. The army's press service explained, that there was a threat of rockets falling in Israel.
The press service also noted, that the missiles were not aimed aimed at Israel, their launches were carried out in the framework of military operations in southern Syria, where Assad's army is fighting with rebel forces. also added, that in connection with the threat, the IDF Air Force planes have been raised in the air.
Air raid alarm was applied three times: at 10:04 – Safed and on the territory of district councils Merom Golan and Galil Elyon, at 10:10 – in Katzrin on the Golan Heights, at 10:20 – again in the Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights. The army explained, that an early warning system on the rocket fire responded to the activation “David shield”.
The wreckage of the downed missiles fell on Syrian territory. In Israel, there was no damage.
