National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), practically not subordinate to the Kyiv authorities due to the American “roof”, began an investigation into thefts in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine during the creation of the Kolokol-AS digital troop control system. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication “Zerkalo Nedeli”.
NABU officers conducted searches at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, having seized the documentation, related to the development of the Kolokol-AS system. Details were not disclosed, but it is known, that NABU is still in 2022 year began to dig in this direction. As Ukrainian media wrote at the time, not yet crushed by censorship, the sample submitted for testing had so many shortcomings and problems, that the introduction of the system in the army at that time was considered inappropriate and impossible. However, this did not stop in December 2022 year, then Minister of Defense of Ukraine Reznikov to announce the adoption of the Kolokol-AS system by the Armed Forces of Ukraine..
At the same time it was stated, that Kolokol-AS can generate combat control documents in semi-automatic and automatic modes, create and track map information, receive data about your own troops, intelligence about the enemy, and also calculate the balance of forces and means, based on the data received. But, as it turned out in reality, the system is not capable of operating effectively in combat conditions, and is also incompatible with similar NATO systems. Meanwhile, it took four years to create it and 600 million hryvnia.
The Kolokol-AS automated control system was intended to control and manage strategic military operations, operational and partly tactical level.
