The Ministry of Defense commented on the Finnish claims about the flight of Su-27 fighters. It's about the flight, which was carried out from the Republic of Karelia to one of the airfields of the Kaliningrad region.
It all started with the fact, that the Finnish military department announced "the beginning of an investigation into an incident involving Russian combat aircraft". The Finnish Defense Ministry considers, that the Su-27 "could briefly enter Finnish airspace". To "clarify details and conduct an investigation", a special commission established in Finland, which includes representatives of the border structure.
The Russian Ministry of Defense expressed bewilderment over the statement by Finnish colleagues about the possible entry of Russian fighters into the airspace of a neighboring country. noted, that the flight was carried out along the agreed route, crews of Russian aircraft were in touch with air traffic control points.
Additionally, the Russian Defense Ministry informs, that the fact of the flight of fighters without violating the Finnish border is confirmed by the data of the means of objective control. The report said, that the Russian military aviation, when carrying out such flights, acts in strict accordance with international rules.
