Japan's Ministry of Defense announced the final selection of participants in the tender for a new wheeled armored vehicle with a 8x8 on the program Next Armored Wheeled Vehicle for the Army of Japan Self-Defense Forces. The Finnish group Patria and the American corporation General Dynamic joined the Japanese corporation Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
According to the Japanese military, in the tender for the replacement of armored personnel carriers type 96 with wheel arrangement 8x8, manufactured by Komatsu Corporation, the AMVXP armored personnel carrier from the Finnish group Patria will participate, LAV armored personnel carrier 6.0 produced by the Canadian branch of General Dynamics Land Systems – Canada and MAV armored personnel carrier (Mitsubishi Armored Vehicle) от Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
