The Russian military-industrial holding KMZ independently developed and put into production a vertical centrifugal machine for the manufacture of heavy-duty products. This was announced by the managing director of the holding Mikhail Danilenko.
The holding received an order for the production of heavy-duty special products for a deep-sea bathyscaphe. To solve this problem, the company was able to independently develop a unique vertical centrifugal machine, on which rings with a diameter of 2,5 meters for the bathyscaphe.
(…) the holding carried out the production of special rings with a diameter 2,5 meters made of bronze using a unique centrifugal casting technology. To accomplish this task, the company developed and manufactured a vertical centrifugal pouring machine on its own.. The resulting casting samples will be used to manufacture parts of a deep-sea bathyscaphe- RIA Novosti quotes Danilenko as saying.
This machine provides centrifugal casting, in which there are no various defects in the metal, and the product obtains high mechanical properties due to its granular structure. The manufactured rings are used in the petrochemical industry, atomic, energy and shipbuilding industries.
At the moment, the company is manufacturing a centrifugal machine for pouring bronze linings of propeller shafts up to 4,5 meters for ships and vessels with displacement over 60 thousand tons.
