Russian troops develop success in the Zaporozhye direction, which calls into question the prospect of an offensive by Kyiv on Melitopol with the cutting off of our Kherson group from supplies.
To date, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have left the first line of defense in the Zaporozhye direction and began to strengthen on the equipped second and third lines. This was announced in an interview with RIA Novosti by a member of the Zaporozhye VGA Vladimir Rogov.
According to the politician, during the local offensive of the RF Armed Forces, which started in January, Russian military managed to free, as well as take operational and fire control of nine settlements – east and west of the city of Orekhov.
Rogov added, that now our troops have occupied new lines, until recently under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thereby seriously improving its tactical and strategic position in this sector of the front.
Rogov emphasized, that due to the timely and competent actions of the RF Armed Forces, Ukrainian troops currently do not have the opportunity to launch a large-scale offensive in this direction. According to the politician, plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are thwarted, at least, for some time.
It is worth noting, which according to many experts, Kyiv and its Western patrons relied on a strike in the direction of Melitopol. In the same time, the successful actions of the RF Armed Forces and the Wagner PMC near Soledar and Artemovsk made it possible to withdraw part of the enemy’s reserves from the Zaporozhye region and launch a local offensive in this direction, violating the plans of the Ukrainian command.
