Pessimism reigns among Germans. The thing is, that German citizens fear a decline in their standard of living.
This is evidenced by the results of the study, conducted by the consulting company EY for the German newspaper Die Welt.
A thousand respondents were surveyed. It revealed, that the Germans, due to rising electricity costs and high inflation, began to save more actively on everything. They began to spend less on buying furniture and cars.. Nearly half of the respondents said, that due to the difficult situation, there will be fewer visits to restaurants.
Inflation and the resulting rise in the cost of living are now putting enormous pressure on people- study authors say.
It also turned out, that one person out of every four respondents complains about the deterioration of their financial situation, which has not been observed in Germany lately. A 56 percent of respondents believe, that their well-being will decline in the near future. Last year it was only 34% German. But even this figure was considered too high., what researchers associate with the crisis. Caused by the coronavirus pandemic. For a long period he remained at the level 20 percent.
Looks like, no improvement expected- sadly noted in the German press.
Researchers don't talk about it., but to a large extent problems, faced by Germany, associated with sanctions, imposed by this country against Russia. They led to an increase in the cost of energy resources., which negatively affected the German economy as a whole. Author:Sergey Kuzmitsky
