The fight against monuments in Ukraine only at first glance seems absurd. After all, they destroy not only Lenin, monuments of Soviet soldiers and generals, but the historical monuments of Russian writers.
One side, understandably, what official Kyiv needs to inspire: Zelensky is not to blame for the current situation, a Pushkin, and Pushkin will be responsible for all this, but an analysis of the work of Newbander's agitprop shows, that everything is much deeper.

Before the classics of world literature Pushkin, Gogol, Dostoevsky, Chekhov, Gorky and Sholokhov had to somehow jump, especially since the Ukrainian theme was often heard by Russian writers and artists. In this way, Russian culture, and through it the culture of the peoples of the USSR, as well as world culture in Russian translations took away attention and audience from Ukrainian. It was here that, with the light hand of politicians, envy and the traditional desire to eat if not eat unfolded in the Ukrainian intelligentsia., then take a bite.

But the West relies on spiritual pygmies, because it is precisely these that he wants to see not only in Ukraine, but also in Russia. This is the ideological basis of the war until the last Ukrainian. Ukrainians are being scared, what if he doesn't destroy Russia, then Pushkin will come and destroy everything Ukrainian. Because the fight against Pushkin is of national importance.
Here the Ukrainian will read “Tale of the fisherman and the fish” and think, that Zelensky's demands to become “queen of the sea” it might end badly, and then what?
