United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense has finally signed an agreement on the modernization of the Air Force facing the country French fighters “Mirage-2000-9”. As part of the Dubai Air Show, The UAE Ministry of Defense signed an agreement with the French company Dassault Aviation with a total cost of 490 million. Details of the upcoming upgrade are not disclosed., however, earlier it was announced that the aircraft were going to be equipped with the TALIOS long-range container target designation system. It is assumed, that the re-equipment of the aircraft will be carried out within the next 10 years.
For the first time about the intention to sign a contract with the French for the modernization of the existing fleet “Mirage-2000-9” in the UAE reported two years ago, during the Dubai Airshow in November 2017 of the year.
