A group of war veterans from Yekaterinburg and other Ural cities in the amount of one and a half dozen people went to Syria to participate in the hostilities, reports Ura.ru citing a source among volunteers, who fought in the Donbass.
“Our guys are now at the training base of the GRU special forces brigade in one of the southern regions of Russia, - a source told the agency. - They were divided by direction: mine-sapper, gunners, commandos and several people - snipers. One of ours will lead the artillery battery”.
According to a source, some people from the group entered into short-term contracts with the Ministry of Defense, and in the territory of the Middle East state they will be in the status of military personnel of the Russian Federation. Other part, supposed, will enter the divisions of the so-called PMC Wagner. In Syria, they will all be at the end of fees.
This information was confirmed by the Special Forces Veterans Fund of the Sverdlovsk Region. “Some members of our foundation have long been, more than a year ago, left for Syria, someone has already returned and is resting, - said the head of the fund Vladimir Efimov to the agency. - But no surnames, I can’t even call any callsigns: information is classified, they all gave a non-disclosure subscription”.
