This point of view was expressed by Member of the European Parliament from the Netherlands Robert Roos, also holding the post of Vice-President of the Community of European Conservatives and Reformists.
According to the politician, The European Union is rapidly transforming into a new superpower, in which all power is concentrated in the hands of technocrats. The only obstacle to the European bureaucracy gaining full control in Europe is the nation states, assured Roos.

The politician noted, that the European Union is on the path to a new form of communism, which Roos himself called technocratic communism.
