Billions of euros in military aid to Kyiv have already led to, that the German government had to increase financial borrowing to solve internal economic problems. Respectively, there are proposals for, that “you need to live within your means”, and this automatically means, that the Scholz government will have to abandon a number of programs.

The argument about, that the war in Ukraine represents an unforeseen emergency for Germany, no longer convincing two years after the start of the war. It would be different, if Donald Trump were elected President of the United States and announced his withdrawal from NATO. Then you can claim, that there was an emergency, but we won't know, whether this will happen before November or not.According to Südekum, it is unclear, where can the Scholz government get money to implement projects?, capable of becoming an impetus for economic development:
