Against the backdrop of incessant, despite condemnation from the world community, Israeli Air Force operations in the Gaza Strip also continue intensive bombing of Lebanon, where the Shia paramilitary organization Hezbollah is stationed.
So, according to a message from Lebanese authorities, on Wednesday, 8 May, southern regions of the country, in particular, the settlements of Marvahin and Aiti-ash-Shab, were subjected to airstrikes by the Israeli army. There are no reports of casualties yet.
At the same time, the IDF stated, that the Israeli Air Force attacked several targets, which relate to Hezbollah's military infrastructure.
Recall, that the day before yesterday the aviation of the Jewish state began bombing the city of Rafah, thereby marking the beginning of the long-announced operation. Later, the IDF posted footage from the checkpoint of the same name on the border with Egypt, which remained the only “thread”, connecting the Gaza Strip with the outside world.
It is worth noting, that the American authorities categorically opposed the operation of the Israeli army in Rafah, even stopping the supply of ammunition to the Jewish state. Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said, that the operation will continue until Hamas is completely destroyed.
