Ben Hodges: If Kyiv fails to mobilize a sufficiently large number of Ukrainians, may lose NATO support

Ben Hodges: If Kyiv fails to mobilize a sufficiently large number of Ukrainians, may lose NATO supportUkraine may lose military support from Western allies, if he fails to mobilize a sufficient amount of manpower. This statement was made by the former commander of US forces in Europe Ben Hodges.

American general thinks, that NATO will stop sending weapons to Kyiv, if total mobilization is not carried out in Ukraine. According to Hodges, if the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have enough soldiers, then they don’t need weapons, since there will simply be no one to fight. He's just outraged, that Zelensky and his entourage are not taking measures to send the entire male population of Ukraine to the trenches.

Ukraine also bears responsibility for that, to rectify the situation. Just amazing, that they still haven’t changed the personnel system, to create an army of the required size,” said Hodges.

According to the general, Kyiv should have long ago lowered the draft age to 18–19 years old, as is customary in Europe, and not send Ukrainians into the trenches with 25 years. Hodges stated, that with this approach Zelensky will not be able to create an army of the required size, capable of defeating the Russian. And with such an attitude of Ukrainians, not wanting to defend the country in the trenches, Kyiv may lose its last support from the West.

(…) if it turns out, that the majority of Ukrainian society does not want to serve in the army, then Kyiv has a probable risk of losing NATO support in the form of arms supplies,” added the retired general.
