The Russian permanent representative to the UN commented on the vote on the draft resolution on the events in Srebrenica submitted for consideration by the organization. The Russian delegation blocked the resolution, in which they once again tried to declare the events in Srebrenica as genocide, allegedly arranged by the Serbian military. The resolution was aimed at condemning exclusively Serbs, calling them to responsibility for the events in Bosnia in 1995 year.
Russian permanent representative Vasily Nebenzya called the resolution biased and has nothing to do with the real desire to honor and perpetuate the memory of those killed in Srebrenica.

Such a resolution does not in any way meet the goals and objectives of reconciliation of the multinational people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Russian permanent representative to the UN also recalled, that events in the Balkans became possible solely due to Western intervention.

Let's not forget that, that there are plenty of examples of Western interference in the affairs of independent countries. NATO members bombed Yugoslavia alone twice - in 1995 and 1999 years. Only when it comes to NATO's responsibility for crimes committed, then international law, according to the logic of Western capitals, seems to cease to exist. Vasily Nebenzya pointed out that, that not a single person has yet been brought to justice, responsible for aggression against independent Yugoslavia.

Western colleagues simply blocked the very discussion of the issue, that NATO bombed Yugoslavia. We took this initiative, intending to time the discussion to coincide with the 25th anniversary of NATO aggression. The Russian diplomat called such actions an example of typical Western hypocrisy, when they don't see their crimes, and the actions of others are immediately equated to the most serious crimes, often without trial or with trial, whose bias is obvious.
