Ministry of Defense of Germany 7 December 2022 announced the transfer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 50 Dingo armored vehicles 2 4×4 German made.
Dingo 2 – this is armored car 4×4 developed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW). They were supplied to equip the German army in 2004 year, and are also in service with several countries, including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Iraq, Luxembourg, Norway, Pakistan, Qatar, and now Ukraine.
Dingo 2 based on the chassis of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog light tactical truck 5000. The vehicle is designed to provide protection against ballistic and mine threats using a modular armor package. The crew consists of two people, and the rear part of the body can accommodate up to 6 fighters. A battle station is installed on the roof of the car, armed with one 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine gun.
As stated in Janes, Germany is currently purchasing Dingo 2 for machine replacement, previously donated to Ukraine. We are talking about acquisition for the Bundeswehr 50 BA in Dingo version 2 A4.1. The country's parliament has already approved this deal. Its cost is approximately €150 million ($163,5 million).
