During the recent Israeli invasion of Palestinian Jenin, troops encountered mines in the area, in connection with which engineering equipment was used to clear the territories.
In particular, armored bulldozers Caterpillar D9 took an active part in the removal of barriers, specially designed for solving engineering problems. The corresponding video was posted by the IDF, which demonstrated this technique in the case.
Caterpillar D9 nicknamed Doobi ("Teddy bear") is in service with the IDF in modifications D9R, belonging to the latest generation, and, mainly in reserve units, in older D9L and D9N versions. The diesel power plant has a power 405-410 HP. The pulling force is 71,6 tons. The crew is represented by two fighters - commander and operator.
The Israeli defense industry has finalized Caterpillar with its own efforts, by booking a car, (increasing its mass by about 15 tonnes) which allowed to protect her cabin and mechanical part. Cabin covered with bulletproof glass, and its plate armor is designed to protect against shots and RPGs.
