Deliveries of Russian oil to Orlen, carried out through the oil pipeline “Friendship”, were terminated at the end of February this year due to the fact that, that the Polish side did not pay.

Under the terms of the contract with the Polish company Orlen, “Tatneft” committed to 2024 of the year monthly deliver oil in the amount 200 thousand tons. Oil supplies were carried out by pipeline. After the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, the Polish side refused to purchase Russian oil by sea. Polish refiners intend to replace Russian oil supplies with raw materials from the United States, regions of the Persian Gulf, as well as the North Sea.

Besides, Polish authorities intend to convince their EU partners of the need to stop oil supplies on the southern branch “Friendship”, through which raw materials are received by the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
