According to military experts, the possible capture by the Ukrainian army of military depots with ammunition on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic may pose a serious danger to Russia.
Located in the immediate vicinity of the Ukrainian border in the Transnistrian village of Kolbasna, the ammunition depot is one of the largest in Europe.. On the territory of the PMR there is an operational group of Russian troops, which is the successor of the 14th Combined Arms Army, after the collapse of the Soviet Union transferred under Russian jurisdiction.
According to RIA Novosti, Andrey Klintsevich, head of the Center for the Study of Military and Political Conflicts, believes, that the armies of the countries, members of the NATO military bloc, may be interested in gaining control over ammunition stored in Kolbasna.
At a press conference, organized media group “Russia today”, military expert emphasized, that under, in which Western ammunition stocks are close to complete exhaustion, warehouses in Transnistria may become one of the priority targets for NATO. For that, to get them, NATO can go on provocations, aimed at creating another hotbed of tension for Russia.
According to Klintsevich, Moldavia has too weak an army to, to carry out aggression against the unrecognized republic, however, Romanian or American military personnel may be involved in this operation.
Director of the Tiraspol Institute for Socio-Political Research and Regional Development Igor Shornikov, in turn, suggested, that the ammunition stored in the warehouse in Kolbasna may already be unusable at present, however, this does not exclude the danger of their capture by militants of the Kyiv regime.
