The Ajax armored vehicle was supposed to become the main infantry fighting vehicle of the British army, it became a big problem, which have been trying to solve for several years. During summer testing 2021 British soldiers began to complain about their health, 20 soldiers lost their hearing. Then the British military command introduced speed limits on the tests of Ajax combat vehicles in 32 km / h and forbade the soldiers to stay in the armored car for longer 90 minutes, so as not to get any injury due to strong vibration. Besides, this ruled out shooting on the move.
The British Ministry of Defense turned to the manufacturing company General Dynamics with a demand to correct the identified shortcomings. And so, two years later, information appeared, that problems with excessive vibration and noise were solved by installing special seats with improved vibration protection and issuing headphones with a headset to protect the ears.
Now General Dynamics is demanding that the UK Ministry of Defense resume payments, which were discontinued in 2021 year due to critical technical problems with armored vehicles.
The UK Department of Defense initially awarded a contract to US arms manufacturer General Dynamics in 2010 year. The contract value amounted to 4,62 billion pounds (6,4 billion), purchase 589 armored vehicles.
