Former Commander of the US Armed Forces in Europe, General Ben Hodges, made a statement regarding the, in which direction would Ukraine first of all come to the court with NATO-made tanks. According to Hodges, the main task of the Ukrainian troops in this regard should be the task of eliminating the land corridor created by Russia to the Crimea.
The West recognizes, that a fairly wide land corridor, leading to the Crimean peninsula, became one of the main achievements of the Russian army with 24 February last year. That is why the West is pushing the Kyiv regime to try to neutralize this Russian success.. For this, in particular, there are calls for a breakthrough from the side of Zaporozhye - in the direction of Melitopol.
Ben Hodges talks about, that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could create an armored brigade based on NATO tanks to “break through the Russian defense line in the direction of Mariupol”.

At the same time, the American retired commander does not say anything about, that while Ukrainian troops in the Zaporozhye direction are retreating. For the last 3-4 days the enemy lost at least 8 settlements near the city of Orekhov. The grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this city was squeezed from three directions at once: southern, eastern and western.
On the eve of the Russian troops liberated the village of Kamenskoye, from which, by road to the southern outskirts of the city of Zaporozhye, less 30 km.
