Gazprom announced a reduction in the volume of gas transit through the territory of Ukraine

«Gazprom» announced a reduction in the volume of gas transit through the territory of UkrainePJSC "Gazprom" announced the reduction of gas supplies through the territory of Ukraine. This was told to journalists by one of the representatives of the Russian gas concern. The reason was the refusal of the Ukrainian authorities to pump blue fuel through the gas distribution station (GRS) "Saved", as a result, transit may decrease by 23%.

The supply of natural gas today through the Ukrainian territory is carried out through a gas metering station (GIS) "Suja". Thanks to this gas line, the Russian company pumps through the neighboring country 25,1 million cubic meters of blue fuel per day - volume, confirmed by Kyiv as of 19 January, although even the day before this figure was 32,6 million cubic meters.

Previously, the site of the "GTS Operator of Ukraine" (ОГТСУ) provided information about, that gas transit today will be approximately at the level 24,4 mln m3.

It is worth noting, that Sudzha serves as the only route for the supply of Russian natural gas (PG) to the countries of Western and Central Europe, since pumping through Nord Stream 1 was completely stopped. Deliveries via Turkish Stream and Blue Stream are carried out for Turkey, as well as the countries of Southern and South-Eastern Europe (Spain, Portugal, Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Greece).

Recall, that at the end of spring 2022, Kyiv decided to stop NG transit to Europe through the Sohranivka station, motivating him to, that force majeure actions do not allow the company [ОГТСУ] control the Novopskov border compressor station, located in the LPR. Notable is the fact, that the Russian gas giant considered this decision unreasonable, while the company's proposal to transfer all volumes of blue fuel to the largest GIS "Sudzha" in the Kursk region "Gazprom" refused, referring to the impossibility of carrying out this process for technological reasons.
