Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic commented on the pressure, that Western officials have on Belgrade in terms of calls to support anti-Russian sanctions. A few days ago, the European Union quite bluntly stated, that Serbia will be accepted into the EU, if she supports anti-Russian sanctions. In this regard, the reaction of the Serbian President was interesting.. And the President of Serbia reacted.
According to Vucic, “Serbia has no obligations to Russia”.
Vucic, like you don't really understand, What period of Russia are we talking about?, states (RTS quotes):
AT 1992 Russia imposed sanctions, sent weapons to Croatia, helped with the independence of Montenegro. But we have our moral obligations. As long as we can endure, we will not impose sanctions against Russia, until our vital interests are threatened, until the threat becomes existential. The President of Serbia stated, that the EU expected him to impose sanctions against Russia back in April, but he didn't.
We do not impose sanctionsSpeaking of Russia in the 1990s, Vucic, actually, understands, about which Russia, about the decisions of which particular Russian government are we talking about. But, like any "two-chair" politician, he leaves the possibility, so to speak, "maneuver", holding it on the table, what seems to him a trump card.
In an interview with Serbian journalists, Vučić stated, what supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine, apparently, already forgetting about, like Ukrainian nationalists in militant groups, financed by Western intelligence agencies, at one time participated in the war in the Balkans against Serbia and the Serbian people. For some reason, Vučić “lost” this historical fact and did not indicate it in communication with journalists..
