As indicated in the local edition of Kompas, Vice Admiral Ahmadi Purwono, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, shared a number of findings, made by the command based on the study of the experience of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Another direction of strengthening the combat power of the Indonesian marines is the modernization of the BMP-3F previously purchased in Russia., as well as Soviet amphibious tanks PT-76, by improving the fire control system and sighting equipment.
Based on the results of this upgrade, the BMP-3F will be able to capture from 5 to 15 targets simultaneously in the right or left position. BMP-3F will be able to conduct automatic and sequential fire- Vice Admiral explained.
