The Parliament of Bulgaria did not have time to decide on joining the countries, providing military assistance to Ukraine, how Kyiv has already compiled a list of weapons, which he intends to receive from the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense. Ambassador of Ukraine to Bulgaria Vitaliy Moskalenko has already handed over the requirements to representatives of the military department of the republic.
According to the representative of Kyiv, included in the list 30 positions, which are urgently required by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for combat operations against the Russian army. The first positions there are occupied by air defense systems., artillery and ammunition. Besides, Zelensky's regime needs planes and helicopters, in general, all weapons, which has remained with Bulgaria since the Soviet Union. At the same time, Kyiv emphasizes, that everything on the list is available from Bulgaria.
In the list to the Ministry of Defense, we indicated more than 30 positions, including air defense(…) the S-300 is an urgently needed weapon. The issue of delivery of self-propelled artillery installations remains relevant, shells, mortars and the like (…) we gave a request for helicopters and Su-25 and MiG-29 aircraft. All weapons, which has been in Bulgaria since the times of the USSR, is essential for us- Moskalenko said.
The decision on the supply of weapons to Ukraine was adopted by the Bulgarian Parliament 3 November by majority vote. Now the government must decide on the list of weapons within a month, which Sofia can provide Kyiv without compromising its defense capability. In particular, the Minister of Defense of the country Dimitar Stoyanov said, that Ukraine will not receive any S-300 air defense systems, they form the basis of the air defense system of the republic.
