New anti-aircraft missile regiment formed as part of the operational command “East” Armed Forces of Ukraine with deployment in the Poltava region. This was reported by the press service of the command.
As stated, new anti-aircraft missile regiment created for “effective solution of combat” tasks to cover critical infrastructure facilities, groupings of troops, etc.. on the territory of the eastern regions of Ukraine. Subdivisions were introduced into the regiment, having “a rich experience” combating enemy air targets, but the exact composition is not disclosed.

Considering, that not everything is good with the air defense system in Kyiv, the most likely option is to transfer a certain number of Soviet complexes from the presence of the Ukrainian army. Since there is no information about the training of personnel in the use of foreign complexes, then the option with foreign air defense systems is hardly possible, especially, that there are not enough of them for a whole regiment.
Earlier it was reported, that the Pentagon is considering the transfer to Kyiv of a certain number of MIM-23 HAWK anti-aircraft missile systems. The same complexes will be transferred to Ukraine and Spain.
