Ukraine will not receive heavy weapons from Bulgaria, despite repeated requests and appeals to put it, Sofia refused Kyiv. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the country Dimitar Stoyanov.
Head of the Bulgarian military department, commenting on the next appeal of the Ukrainian Ambassador Vitaly Moskalenko, requesting the supply of heavy weapons for the Ukrainian army said, that Bulgaria will continue to provide military-technical assistance to Ukraine, but will not supply arms. At least, while Stoyanov holds the post of Minister of Defense of the country.
Ambassador of Ukraine asked us for heavy weapons. My answer was clear: there is a decision of the parliament on the provision of military-technical assistance, but not about providing weapons. While I am a minister, weapons to Ukraine will not be provided- he said.
It is worth noting, that Ukraine has a rather difficult situation with the supply of weapons, in fact, now Kyiv contains only the United States, and even then without supplying heavy weapons. At the same time, in Europe, two or three more countries are armed with Soviet-made armored vehicles and aircraft.. It's about Bulgaria, Hungary and, perhaps, Romania, that, despite pressure from the United States, don't plan to say goodbye. In particular, the Bulgarians have Su-25 attack aircraft in the amount 13 pcs (one crashed yesterday), and eight of them have been upgraded.
So Kyiv is trying by all means to get weapons, as the Russian army prepares to attack, to sponsors from the USA and Great Britain, if they put something, not this year. And Europe is already tired of Zelensky and his company, new arms deliveries are no longer expected.
