According to Polskie Radio, Kiev received 200 removed from storage tanks, ie. almost half of the Soviet-style tank fleet in Poland. Part of the T-72 tanks from the available quantity in 2019 year was modernized by decision of the Polish Ministry of Defense, and some remained in reserve. It was not modernized tanks that went to Ukraine. What condition are they in no information.
According to earlier publications in the Western press, including the Polish, Warsaw intended to transfer no more than a hundred tanks to Ukraine, but it turned out, that gave twice as much.
In addition to T-72M tanks and BMP BWP-1 (Polish version of the BMP-1), Poland sent to Ukraine “dozens of self-propelled howitzers, drone, missiles and grenade launchers”, in total for more than 7 billion. zloty (about 1,6 billion. dollars). Apparently, Warsaw will demand such an amount from the European Union as compensation, following Slovakia and Sweden.. Somehow I can't believe, that the Poles handed over all weapons to Kyiv for free.
As previously reported, T-72M tanks supplied to Ukraine are a simplified modification 1979 of the year, they do not have dynamic armor, modern fire control systems, multi-channel sights. This equipment was at the storage base in Lublin awaiting modernization to the level of RT-91. Now some of them will be disposed of by Russian troops, and part in the form of trophies will be put into service with the tank units of the NM of the DPR and LPR.
