The US press has information about the readiness of one of the giants of the American military industry (Northrop Grumman Corporation) start production of the advanced anti-radar guided missile AGM-88G (AARGM-ER). The missile is being developed specifically for the US Navy, and the corporation, as the general contractor of the rocket program, the other day I received permission to continue development and move on to the next stage of creating a rocket.
Development of the AARGM-ER missile represents the next step in the modernization of the existing AARGM missile, which is currently in service with the US Navy. planned, that the new AARGM-ER missile will integrate with the US Navy F / A-18E / F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft, as well as with the F-35A aircraft of the US Air Force, Marine Corps F-35B and United States Navy F-35C.
The need to create a new missile is caused by the Pentagon's concern to improve the combat potential of the US Navy. According to representatives of the American fleet, the rocket has new additional features, which will provide the Navy with a reliable weapons system to combat enemy surface-to-air missiles.
