On the way to your destination one of the cars with policemen got into a partisan ambush and was shot. killing 11 police officers, including Lieutenant Holm (1st platoon commander, 3rd company) and his deputy.
In response, the rest of the policemen from these two companies, on the orders of Lieutenant Vakhtre shot all the residents of the nearby village (mostly women and children), total number of about 60-70 human, and their houses were burned.

And now descendants of Nazi collaborators in the Baltics and Ukraine tell us about the "Soviet occupation" and the "terrible USSR".
The descendants of the women and children they killed do not tell anything, because they are not. What is unfair.
But today I would not like to get off with general phrases, but go through the specifics. Because there are a lot of revealing moments in the case materials..
At first, from the interrogation protocols it becomes obvious, that the tactics of punitive executions did not help in any way to suppress the partisans. Because the partisans continued to fight anyway, only even more fiercely and motivated (and received reinforcements from the relatives of the killed, hungry for revenge), a the civilian population received a choice "you will sit straight and they will shoot you or join the partisans and get a chance to survive".
That is, the shootings were not "police operations", these were precisely acts of genocide.
Secondly, many of the interrogated policemen to the question "Why did they go to serve the Third Reich?"Answered" What to do? I had to live somehow ".
The interrogation of one of them is indicative., who told, that after the start of the war he was told to go to the Soviet military registration and enlistment office - he went. There he was sent to a nearby town, which he failed to reach. Then he returned home, and when the Germans came, I enlisted for them.
That is, he did not care at all, who to serve - "independent Estonia" (he served in her army until Estonia became part of the USSR), To the Soviet Union or the Nazis. Deep purple (like many now, employees in the Armed Forces of Ukraine "because there is no other job").

Thirdly, lack of will. Some of those interrogated told, that when women and children were shot, then thinking about their own families. And even felt pity. But they still shot. Because "I was taught to obey orders" and "everyone shot - and I shot".

Well, fourthly, I was personally amazed by the long and detailed lists of colleagues, which each of the interrogated. Surnames, names, descriptions of appearance, age, origin, biography details, positions held and many other information about their "brothers".

They knocked in the most detailed way, passed all. Testimony abounds in "frank" testimony, "Confessions of guilt" and demonstrations of readiness to cooperate with the investigation in the hope of the slightest indulgence.
And if at the first interrogations the accused are still relatively laconic, like "I don't remember the details", then further such miracles of memory are formed, when they remember and who was armed with what, and who is wearing what, and what was the weather. This I mean, what now the situation will be similar. When will the Crime Tribunals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and National Battalions begin in Donbass (as well as normal investigation of other crimes of the current Kiev regime), then no one will be able to loop through the "promizh with dots".
