German consortium ARTEC presented a new version of the GTK Boxer 8x8 armored personnel carrier. According to the blog bmpd, in this version, the armored personnel carrier received the Protector RT60 combat module of the Norwegian group Kongsberg.
Armored personnel carrier designed in the interests of “Middle Eastern” customer, which one is not reported, but according to the blog, it could be Qatar, whose deal to acquire French-made VBCI-2 armored personnel carriers fell through.
This version of the Boxer armored personnel carrier is equipped with a Protector RT60 remotely controlled combat module with a Northrop Grumman XM813 automatic gun of caliber 30 mm, sparennym caliber machinegun 7,62 mm, as well as an ATGM launcher for two missiles. Besides, another remote-controlled machine gun is installed on the roof of the module, already large-caliber 12,7 mm.
The Protector RT60 module of the Norwegian company is also installed on the American armored personnel carrier M1296 Stryker ICV Dragoon (ICVD) and promising wheeled armored personnel carriers of the US Marine Corps ACV-30.
The crew of the BTR Boxer is 3 man + landing 8 human.
