Exaggeration in the media space of the topic of, that Algeria is allegedly ready to buy Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighters, caused quite a stir in India. The main direction for discussion is related to, that the Indian military and political leadership several years ago decided to withdraw from the FGFA program joint with the Russian Federation.
Then in India they announced, that the technical parameters and characteristics of the aircraft being created do not suit them. It was pointed out, that Su-57, then designated as PAK FA T-50, does not have an effective stealth coating and does not have sufficient thrust motors. Other "disadvantages" were also pointed out, "Problems" and "flaws", which the Indian side refused to level and overcome together.
Now the Indian expert community is celebrating, that a paradoxical situation for India may develop. It consists in, that the country does not have promising orders for fifth generation fighters from foreign countries (and there are only two such options for India: Russia or USA), there is no own program for creating a fifth generation fighter, which would allow you to get a fighter within 4-5 the coming years. There is an AMCA program, but even if it is implemented, then the first aircraft of the fifth generation, the Indian Air Force will receive only to 2032 year (best case scenario).
New critical comments about the country's leadership appear in the Indian press. Points out, what if the Algerian Air Force has fifth generation fighters a few years earlier, than the Indian Air Force, then "the entire Indian government must resign".
