The topic of “super-duper rockets” is once again raised in the US (super duper missile), announced by President Donald Trump during his May speech. According to Trump, The United States creates a rocket, which "there are no analogues in the world in speed".
Trump repeated his statement, adding a few words about “unparalleled rockets in the world”, in front of the graduates of West Point Military Academy:
You heard, that Russia and China have rockets, which can fly to 5-6 times faster than sound. And our super-duper rocket is capable of speed, at 17 times the speed of sound. We produce incredible military equipment. For everyone back rocket, flying in 17 times faster than sound, – good news.
Further trump said, that “a rocket is capable of hitting a target at a distance of 1 thousand miles accurate 14 inches.
After that, trump has already announced, that "the American rocket in 17 times faster than the fastest rocket to date ". So 17 times faster than sound or 17 times faster than the “fastest rocket”?
The American press notes, something that Trump’s statement aroused great interest among experts. But no one can understand, what rocket is the US president talking about. We are talking about hypersonic weapons or ballistic missiles? So far, none of the US arms manufacturers and none of the Pentagon officials have officially announced the testing of hypersonic weapons with high-speed parameters, voiced by the president of the USA.
