At the Khrunichev Center, included in the structure of the state corporation "Roskosmos", decided to start production of Rokot rockets again. They are created on the basis of the RS-18B Stilet intercontinental ballistic missiles, are taken out of service.

The contract for the creation of Rokot-2 conversion missiles was concluded between the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Khrunichev Center.
Earlier, the Rokota management system was produced in Kharkov by the Khartron enterprise, but then 2014 years of supply from Ukraine ceased. This led to the cessation of launches of these missiles..
Now the control equipment for Rokot will be released by the Khrunichev Center. The company called the new rocket "Rokot-M", agreeing this name with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The development of a new rocket will cost the Khrunichev Center in the amount of 3,4 billion rubles, of which 690 millions will be spent on creating a new management system. The amount also includes the costs of creating an upper stage, modernization of the launch pad of the Plesetsk cosmodrome, first launch organization and other costs.
