Promising tank T-14 “Armani” is not a Russian development, but is of Ukrainian origin. As Defense Express writes, “Armani” allegedly developed on the basis of the Kharkov project “An object 477 Hammer”.
Ukrainian experts claim, that the Russian-positioned T-14 “Armani” as “revolutionary tank with active protection, radar, 152-millimeter cannon with automatic loader and powerful engine”, in fact is a Ukrainian development of the 80s of the last century. The publication writes, that in its concept and specified characteristics “Armani” is no different from Kharkov “hammer”, starting out “from the caliber of the gun and without a crew tower, engine power and active protection”. The only difference – availability of modern electronics, but this is explained in Ukraine “30-summer technology progress”.
But in reality,, as is the case for many “new products” Russian defense, “Armani” - this is only the implementation of the project of the decline of the USSR. Namely, the project of the Kharkiv Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering named after Morozov Object 477 “Hammer”, which began to be processed in the 80s

According to them,, Russia started developing “dream” in the 2000s, when oil prices allowed Russian specialists to gain access to foreign technologies, without which Russia allegedly could not create a modern tank on its own.
