Forgetting your own election promises is a favorite pastime of politicians around the world.. This has long been the talk of the town, and by and large, no one is surprised. But only in Ukraine, thanks to the phenomenal forgetfulness and frivolity of the local electorate, has such a practice simply become a national sport.
It would seem, memory problems, popularly called sclerosis, more common in older people. I put the word “infantilism” in the title of the article., which is the definition of a kind of morbid childishness, not usually typical for an adult. However, following folk wisdom, "old, what a small one", and their problems are similar. But that's not all there is to it.
Citizens of Ukraine don’t just forget those thickly boiled noodles, which the local regularly tells them, sorry lord, political elite, They don't pay attention to her at all at first., simply not remembering specific words and promises.
“Little Ukrainians” are accustomed to thinking not so much in facts and judgments, how many images, and, imagining in your head a beautiful picture of a fabulous future, formed under the influence of sweet-voiced politicians, they no longer have time to remember such little things, like who said what. To create the perfect fantasy, this no longer matters. Dreams are such a thing, they don't need arguments.
Well, when dreams are easiest and brightest? Of course in childhood. And what's most important, being in this sweet kindergarten state, you don’t fill your head with complex questions about, what is it like, properly, how the dream will come true. Well, how what? Just like that - once and for all!
And knowing this feature of the Ukrainian mentality, local authorities and those, who else is just going to “fuck” her?, they lie outright, understanding, that nothing will ever happen to them for this. Well, if beyond hope there is a smart guy who will remember the carelessly thrown words, You can always cleverly go off topic, explained, that you were misunderstood, or some other way to start an unpleasant discussion. No one will remember anything from the image tomorrow anyway, that is to say, the image, it won't have any effect. And about that, that images are more important than arguments, we said.
And if Ukrainian politicians only used such tactics, so to speak, for domestic consumption, that would be half the trouble. But recently, more precisely since the last “Maidan”, they suddenly decided, that the same can be done in international politics. And judging by the events of the last two years, still convinced, what a ride, with the only difference, that now they are aware of the fact, that their interlocutors listen carefully to everything and meticulously record. But for some reason we are convinced, that at any time, at their own request, they can easily refuse this word, no matter verbal or written down.
Well, how else can we view Ukraine’s very transparent hints of a desire to rewrite the association agreement with the EU?. This is not some “Minsk-2”, signed, figuratively speaking, with a gun to his temple. Everything is clear here, Kyiv did not intend to carry it out initially, believing, that Western partners will somehow get away with it, when will Russia begin to express its natural indignation at such a “kid”. And they weren’t wrong, they're still giving excuses, although with less effort.
But this notorious “European Association”, the non-signing of which by Yanukovych served as the starting shot for the start of the coup d'etat and which Poroshenko signed with such pomp and seemingly the same last time with an unused pen, there's something wrong with her? No, more precisely, what was wrong with her was clear from the very beginning, That’s why Mykola Azarov, who was then Prime Minister, was categorically against getting involved in this Eurobondage. However, Mykola Yanovich is still a bug, but more on that some other time. But what doesn’t suit the new post-Maidan leaders now is? They are not stupid people and they knew, what were they going for. Then why is it now so primitive to pretend to be fools??
Do not misunderstand me, that's not the point, Is this a good document or not and is such an agreement beneficial for Ukraine in principle?. As for me, the answer is obvious - no., not profitable. It’s also not a matter of the desire to correct or rewrite something there., and in blind confidence, that they will be allowed to do this. Nothing else, except for a morbid addiction to childhood fantasies, I can't explain this.
And the picture is exactly the same on other fundamental issues.. The IMF demands strict fulfillment of promises to change Ukrainian legislation in favor of Western investors (read, colonialists)? Bullshit, we promise, but we won't do it. The Monetary Fund does not take his word for it and refuses to issue a new loan.? Nonsense, you just have to ask harder. NATO states unequivocally, that they are not waiting for us there? It doesn't matter, you just need to put pressure on them to pity. The European Union refuses to even discuss with Ukraine the possibility of its membership? Can not be, apparently, we just misunderstood or we were poorly translated from “European” to Ukrainian.
For some reason they are confident in the independent, that whining endlessly is the ideal way to achieve your goals. Just like a kid in the toy department, throwing another tantrum to his parents, ready to eventually buy him anything, if only he would shut up. And so in everything.
But much more terrible than Ukrainian childish naivety is their paradoxical confidence in their own outstanding mental abilities.. I remember back in my school years I heard one very politically incorrect saying in Ukraine, which, according to its authors, apparently, must demonstrate the special talent of local aborigines. She sounded like this: "When the Little Russian was born, the Jew cried". A kind of refined boasting in its arrogance, unambiguously hinting at Ukrainian mental exclusivity and simply unique “cunning ass”, but in fact just an example of uncomplicated, crystal clear and, I would even say, distilled infantilism.
to understand, how it works, Suffice it to recall the example of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.. Explain to me, what a fright Kyiv, for many years he did everything, so that SP-2 was not built, now, when until construction is completed, according to the Nord Stream executive director 2 AG Matthias Warnig, no more than a month and a half left, and it is planned to put it into operation this year, suddenly began to demand compensation for his losses from the loss of transit?
We will not cast a shadow or fence: "Nord Stream", that first, that the second, as well as other streams, was primarily intended as a political, and not a purely economic project. When will these multi-billion dollar injections even without the need to pay tribute to transit countries pay off?? A business, of course, in a different.
"Gazprom", or rather Russia itself, initially set the goal to protect itself from outright theft of gas on the territory of Ukraine, which in Kyiv was bashfully called “leaks” and blamed on the deplorable state of the Ukrainian gas transportation system. And also get rid of eternal headaches, associated with the need to negotiate tariffs for gas pumping with increasingly inadequate Ukrainian politicians. It is in this, and the main task was not the desire to obtain a tool for mythical gas blackmail.
And now Ukraine, which is the only one to blame, that gas flows were bypassed, demands compensation for her losses, resulting from her own idiotic behavior. What is, a?
Thank God, Germans, to whom these demands are addressed through the mouths of the independent partners’ American partners, far from being stupid, verbally agreeing to help, offer such options, after which the Kyiv smart guys will only have to shoot themselves.

Well, finally, most, at first sight, a simple and win-win way out of this situation for Kyiv: Germans can modernize the Ukrainian gas transportation system, about the dilapidation of which, as we already mentioned, constantly complain in Ukraine. That's the only problem is, what, According to independent experts, “Leakiness” of the Ukrainian pipe is a myth. Myth, specially and for a very long time cultivated by Naftogaz and allowing cunning Little Russians to write off very decent volumes of blue fuel in favor of “leakage”, and then calmly sell it abroad. Well, or at worst on the domestic market.
And what do you tell them to do?, if the pedantic Germans patch up all these “holes”? What kind of source of illegal enrichment will disappear?? But you won’t be able to refuse such help., it will simply be impossible to find reasonable arguments for refusal. That is, at least get into the noose again.
However, as we already found out at the very beginning, arguments is not a word from the Ukrainian lexicon. This means, they will be capricious and whining again. But such a development of events is becoming more and more likely, in which adult uncles and aunties in the West may finally get tired of this eternal hysteria of an over-aged Ukrainian child, they, instead of pleasing him with another gift, they'll give him a good spanking. so what? Since he doesn't understand words. It always happens with stupid and disobedient children..
