And the story is quite classic for an elderly Russian oppositionist. Back in the 90s, he managed to put together a very profitable business - a collection network. of course, then, in a period of actual lawlessness, not the most legal and humane methods were used, to literally knock out debts. However, a new law came into force not so long ago., severely limiting the possibilities of collectors, and Gennady was forced to say goodbye to a profitable feeder.
However, being an enterprising person, he managed to serve two terms ... in the deputy chair in the State Duma itself. During this time, Gudkov Sr. seized power in one of the dumps near Moscow. There were tons of rubbish. of course, all sanitary standards were sent to hell, because they only interfered with earning. locals, literally smelling Gudkov's greed, started complaining.
But Gudkov, with the support of his liberal son Dmitry, made a real war with the locals.. Hiding behind environmental slogans and bought by Greenpeace, they organized a whole movement against the construction of an incinerator instead of a landfill. But the feeder still managed to cover.
