AT 2018 year “TEHMI” introduced new ammunition for MLRS “Tornado-G”. A total of three new projectiles have been introduced.:
1. unguided projectile with a detachable high-explosive fragmentation warhead of increased efficiency (index 9M539), designed to destroy manpower both in open areas, and in shelters, equipment, without armor, as well as command posts and other targets. The declared effectiveness of the new projectile in 6 times higher than the standard MLRS projectile “city”.
2. unguided rocket with a cluster warhead with cumulative fragmentation warheads (index 9M541), designed to destroy armored vehicles with armor thickness up to 140 mm. The declared effectiveness of the defeat in 10 times higher than that of a standard projectile “city”.
3. unguided rocket with high-explosive fragmentation warhead of increased power (index 9M538), designed to destroy enemy personnel. New projectile in terms of effectiveness in 2 times superior to a standard MLRS shot “city”. The effectiveness of the destruction is achieved due to the head of the projectile, carrying within itself 1312 ready-made 6-mm submunitions and 2 660 pieces 9 mm.
