According to the document developed by the Ministry of Defense, The lights of memory must be lit for at least 7 once a year: 23 February, 9 May, on National Unity Day (4 November), on the day of memory of Russian soldiers, killed in World War I (1 August), on the day of the unknown soldier (3 December), on the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland (9 December), on the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow (22 June).
