Lithuanian Ministry of Defense has initiated the creation of Europe's rapid reaction forces to cyber threats, TASS reports.
According to the head of the military department of the Lithuanian Raimundas Karoblisa, arrived in Luxembourg at the European Council meeting, now the process of signing a declaration of intent regarding the establishment of such a force and a joint support mechanism.
he reported, that the document has already been agreed to sign a six countries - is, naturally, Lithuania itself, and Spain, Netherlands, Romania, Croatia, Estonia.
The Minister said, that the project will bring together the EU and other countries, which have not yet signed the declaration only "for procedural reasons", given the complexity of the issue.
The project will be implemented within the framework of the Permanent structured cooperation (PEACH). Promoting the idea of a rapid reaction Kiberso assigned to cover Lithuania. The project itself was approved PESCO participants at the end of last year. It is assumed, that country, signatories, will share not only information, but scientific advances in this field, and specialists.
Besides, the project provides for the establishment of mutual assistance arrangements, exploration and production of tools for preventing incidents in the cybersphere. In the future, will be joint exercises to simulate cyber tools, a special commission will assess the legal aspects of the activities of such teams.
