Yevgeny Roizman today at a meeting of the City Duma of Ekaterinburg announced, that he was stepping down as mayor. Roizman until recently remained one of the few opposition politicians, located at the head of the Russian cities. According Roizman, he made the decision due to the fact, in Yekaterinburg abolished the direct election of the mayor.
Yet officially declared incumbent mayor, that "will not participate in legitimizing the decisions of others".
