The State Duma approved the second reading of the bill, which expands the president and the government power to impose kontrsanktsy against the United States and other countries, taking anti-Russian restrictive measures.
The norm of the document, due to which the restrictions could get almost all Russian companies and banks with foreign participation.
For the second reading of the text of the document possible references to specific industries, goods and services, and a list of possible countermeasures reduced from 16 to six. US companies or other hostile foreign countries will not be allowed to participate in contracts for public procurement and privatization of state property. The same prohibition shall apply to companies, directly or indirectly controlled by such States or persons affiliated with them.
The Cabinet will have the right to terminate or suspend the operation of international cooperation with foreign nations unfriendly, as well as organizations, under their jurisdiction or directly or indirectly controlled by such States or persons affiliated with them.
The government will also remain the authority to ban or restrict the importation and exportation of products or raw materials from the US and other hostile countries. Countermeasures sanctions will not affect goods, which can be imported Russian citizens or foreign citizens for personal use.
The third reading is scheduled for 22 May.
