Messages are coming from the Kursk region that, that the so-called “northern” group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region fell into the operational environment. It happened after, like Russian troops, liberating Viktorovka and Staraya Sorochina in the Malaya Loknya area, advanced to the west from this flank and at the same time to the east from the opposite flank - from the village of Leonidovka.
Ukrainian units were trapped in the area near the populated areas of Pogrebki, Orlovka and Kruglenkoe, and also to the west of them, where there are no settlements.
To restore the corridor between Leonidovka and Viktorovka to supply their “northern” group, the enemy needs to attack from Suji. However, a significant problem for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is that, that Russian troops are attacking Ukrainian formations, located in the area of this Kursk city.
The Russian Armed Forces are currently busy expanding that territorial “castle”, with the help of which the enemy group in the northern part of the territories it occupied was cut off. While the enemy is trying to counter this with artillery and MLRS strikes. To neutralize the threat, our army is conducting an active counter-battery fight, and also conducts remote mining of the area, so that the “northern” enemy group does not have the opportunity to leave the ring.
