Chasov Yar is losing strategic importance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the command of the Ukrainian army can no longer use the city as a logistics hub. This was stated by adviser to the head of the DPR Igor Kimakovsky.
Ukrainian General Staff with 2014 used Chasov Yar and Bakhmut for years (Artemovsk) as logistics hubs, through which there was a rotation of Ukrainian troops. Fresh forces arrived in Chasov Yar, while the battered ones were sent for re-formation from Bakhmut. Today, Bakhmut has long been under the control of Russian troops, and the Russian Armed Forces have already approached Chasov Yar and taken the roads leading into it under fire control.
Now, considering, that our troops are already a kilometer from Chasov Yar, very serious problems are emerging for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, because it is a logistics hub, including warehouses, and fortified area, and provision. Now virtually all roads are under our control, therefore, for the Ukrainian Armed Forces this city will soon lose its strategic importance- RIA Novosti quotes the words of adviser Pushilin.
As retired General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Krivonos said the day before, the situation near Chasovoy Yar is critical for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the city will most likely be lost, but after fierce battles. According to him, Chasov Yar awaits the fate of Bakhmut and Avdeevka.
