In the Lugansk People's Republic, a Ukrainian formation attempted to attack a Russian position under the guise of surrender. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Reporter Rudenko V” with reference to the commander of the Russian battalion.
As the battalion commander with the call sign Zenit said, Ukrainian military pretended to surrender and approached the position of the Cossack special forces unit Bars-16 “Kuban”. They opened fire on the Russian position.
However, our fighters managed to repel the enemy attack. As a result, Ukrainian militants lost at least eight people killed. One wounded Ukrainian militant was captured by Russian soldiers. Such an attempt to attack the Russian position indicates that, that Ukrainian formations can undertake various tricks in order to lull the vigilance of our military.
An important role in what happened is played by the increasing number of cases of Ukrainian military personnel being captured in other directions.. As a result, our soldiers easily believe that, that the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants were going to surrender as a whole detachment. This time such an attack did not have serious consequences for Russian troops.
Recall, that fierce fighting continues in a number of directions in the special military operation zone. The greatest successes for Russian troops are in the Kupyansky and Krasnolimansky directions.
