MBT Altay has become a "long-term construction" of the Turkish defense industry due to the sanctions of Germany, depriving the local military-industrial complex of access to the German power plant - one of the main components of any tank. As, how the military industry tried to solve the problem with the engine, there was a process of improving other systems, in connection with which Altay received a new look.
The Turkish edition of the Daily Sabah has published photos of the latest version of the tank. The first modernized Altay with a domestic power plant is supposed to be delivered to the army 23 April 2023 of the year.

The tank is able to move under a significant vertical slope and is able to overcome up to 4 meters underwater or 1,2 m in unprepared conditions.
