The fourth patrol ship of the project 22160 and third serial “Sergey Kotov” was launched in September this year. This was announced by a representative of the Zelenodolsk shipbuilding plant named after A.M. Gorky.
Responding to a question journalists, representative of the Zelenodolsk Shipyard said, that the launch date for the third production ship of the project 22160 “Sergey Kotov” – September 2020 of the year. The ship is currently being built at the Kerch Shipyard.
The new patrol ship was named in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union, participant in the defense of Odessa and Sevastopol, liberation of Novorossiysk and Crimea by Rear Admiral Sergei Kotov.
The lead patrol ship of this project “Vasily Bykov” was introduced into the Black Sea Fleet 20 December 2018 of the year. The first production vehicle project 22160 “Dmitry Rogachev” joined the Black Sea Fleet 11 June 2019 of the year. The third ship of the series and the second serial “Pavel Derzhavin” launched 21 February 2019 years in Kerch, where it is completed afloat. Fourth and fifth production patrol ships “Victor the Great” and “Nikolai Sipyagin” under construction in Zelenodolsk. All ships are intended for the Black Sea Fleet.
The construction of the entire series of these ships was delayed due to the import substitution of the power plant. All ships of the series, except for the head “Vasily Bykov”, on which German MAN diesel gear units are installed, receive diesel-reduced units manufactured by the Kolomna Plant.
