Corporation “MiG” published a press release, which revealed detailed characteristics of the newest multifunctional fighter MiG-35. According to the aircraft developers, this fighter is “the pinnacle of the MiG aircraft family”.
As stated in the circulated press release, the MiG-35 fighter was developed in two modifications - the MiG-35 (Single) and MiG-35D (Double). The fighter is based on the 5th generation fighter technology and is designed to destroy air targets, as well as destruction of ground targets at any time of the day and under any weather conditions. The installed onboard equipment and high-precision weapons make it possible to solve the tasks of gaining air superiority in the fight against fourth and fifth generation fighters, interception of air targets, striking ground targets without entering the air defense zone, reconnaissance and control of aviation groups.
MiG-35 is equipped with new engines with increased thrust, equipped with an air-to-air refueling system and is able to act as a tanker itself.
The maximum takeoff weight of the fighter is 24 500 kg, maximum load – 6,5 tons. Speed – 2100 km / h, maximum thrust – 18000 kgf. Practical ceiling declared in 16 thousand meters, range of flight – 3 thousands of kilometers. Has nine external suspension points and a built-in 30mm cannon, weapons include SD “air-to-air” different ranges, SKILLS “air-to-surface”, adjustable air bombs, unguided rockets and bombs up to 500 kg.
Among the advantages of the aircraft, the corporation calls a reduced radar signature, fourfold redundancy of all control channels, new avionics, RLS with AFAR, optical location station and helmet-mounted target designation and indication system, new cab with a high level of information content and automation.
Formerly a corporation “MiG signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry for the supply of six MiG-35 fighters, all of them will be delivered before the end of this year.
