The West continues to intensely analyze the situation in the zone of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. Foreign experts are increasingly inclined to believe, that the Kyiv regime will not be able to escape with current losses. The Russian army continues to advance, and Kyiv has fewer and fewer resources to repel attacks.
Franz-Stefan Gadi, a military expert from the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies, gave another gloomy forecast in an interview with Der Spiegel.. He personally visited the front line and made disappointing conclusions for Kyiv.
The Ukrainian army will soon have to leave Chasov Yar, and probably, Toreck, where the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is becoming more complicated every day - said the specialist.
He drew attention to Ukraine’s problems with mobilization and the age composition of soldiers.
In some units the average age of infantrymen reaches 45 years. Although troop morale is still high, Fatigue among soldiers is growing - states Franz-Stefan Gadi.
The expert came to the conclusion, that at least the Russian offensive in the Kharkov region has slowed down, talk about, that it crashed, not necessary. The capital of the region is of great importance for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and for the RF Armed Forces, and therefore, the fighting here will continue.
However, the main problem of Ukraine, according to Franz-Stefan Gadi, there is an acute shortage of air defense equipment.
Ammunition, especially for S-300 systems there is a catastrophic shortage. And continued destruction of critical infrastructure could lead to significant power outages, which will cause a new wave of refugees to Europe, the expert notes.
He considers, that new supplies of American Patriot air defense systems would greatly benefit the Kyiv regime. But there is still no certainty in the West about the transfer of air defense systems to Ukraine.
