As part of the Future Range program, the US Air Force's 325th Fighter Wing recently received a series of high-quality mock-ups..
They imitate the most modern Russian air defense systems, to improve the effectiveness of exercises and crew training- the air force explains.
The photographs provided by this department show, among others, SA-22 Greyhound mockups (ZRPK "Pantsir-S2") and the SA-17 Grizzly (SAM "Buk-M2"), where pilots from Tyndall Air Force Base practice their skills.
The simulators are installed at the Gulf Range training site with an area of more than 460 000 quarter. km. It is one of the few in the USA, capable of providing comprehensive training for air combat.
The US military has extensive experience using mock-ups to simulate Soviet or Russian-made systems and continues to manufacture and use them for training purposes.. So, a few months ago, images of mock-ups of the S-300 and Tor-M1 anti-aircraft systems appeared.
The current long-term goal is, to place simulator targets along the coast from Tyndall to Carrabelle [northeastern Gulf of Mexico] and further inland- noted in the US Air Force.
